It’s exciting to have finally photographed Nate and Melissa’s historical landmark mansion wedding since they booked a long while back.  Melissa was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed in early 2010, and then I met up with her in Colorado last year at a local Starbucks, just before shooting a wedding there in Denver.  Melissa and Nate chose the delta riverfront venue which exudes classy photographs anywhere you fire off your camera. This mansion has well-built architectural backdrops, and I could have taken a bazillion different photographs here with with all the ideas flowing in my head of what was possible. And even though backdrops are never a major issue anywhere I shoot, since you can apply several creative photographic or environmental techniques to get anything you want in your backdrop, this luxurious venue obviously adds richness to any photograph. Some couples ask me to check out their venues before their wedding day, but there’s no need. Most of the weddings I have photographed were never pre-visited. Everything changes when the day ACTUALLY happens, dependent on many other factors, which I won’t go into at this point.

Melissa and Nathan are the first of three Grand Island couples I have on books this 2012 year, and their wedding came in with a bang! We captured many of great images from their wedding, too many to post here, but this will at least give you a feel.  Congratulations to Nathan and Melissa on their new journey together!

The Grand Island mansion is Luxurious venue to plan your wedding event if you’re near the Sacramento region, which is located on the Delta River, west of Elk Grove. I’m not endorsed by their outfit, but they do have impressive features for any ceremony and reception at a reasonable cost. One of the reasons I love their riverfront property is mostly for photographic reasons. The lighting on the outside, the lighting on the inside, the Italian statues and gardens, wrought iron gazebo for family portraits, the colors all throughout venue, the theater room, the outside tent for alternative reception areas, a choice of unique rooms which have it’s own character, the bridal suite, window lighting, an elegant stairway, and more. I would say to plan your wedding in Amador County at one of the wineries, but if you’re wanting to plan your wedding in Sacramento at a reasonable price, the Grand Island Mansion is definitely something to look into for your special wedding day!
